Updating the GEO databases
GEOIP and GEOSITE rules rely on local databases to classify IPs and domains. Stale databases cause misrouting — refresh them periodically.
What GEO data is
The GeoIP database maps IP ranges to countries (what a rule like GEOIP,US,DIRECT relies on); the GeoSite database maintains categorized domain lists (e.g. the geosite:category-ads-all ad-domain set). Sites and IP allocations change constantly, so the databases must keep up.
Update steps
- Open the Settings page and find the “Clash Core” area.
- Click the “Update GeoData” button.
- Wait for the download; the core loads the new data automatically.
- If the download crawls, enable the proxy first and retry.
