Setting up global hotkeys
Reaching for the tray icon every time you toggle the system proxy gets old fast. Clash Verge has global hotkeys built in — bind them once and a key combination does the job.
Binding a hotkey
- Open Settings and find Hotkey Setting.
- Click the input box next to the action you want, then press the combination you want to use, for example Ctrl+Alt+S.
- The ones worth binding: show/hide window, toggle system proxy, toggle TUN mode, switch between rule and global mode.
- Close the dialog and it takes effect immediately — no restart needed.
When a hotkey does nothing
Almost always another program registered the same combination first. Input methods, screenshot tools and screen recorders all love Ctrl+Alt plus a letter, so picking a less obvious combination usually fixes it. Also remember hotkeys are registered globally: they stop responding once the client fully exits, but keep working while it is only minimised to the tray.
